TEC Exhaust Fan Flow Meter Box
Fast, Accurate Residential Ventilation Airflow Testing
The Exhaust Fan Flow Meter is a lightweight airflow measurement device designed specifically for testing residential bathroom exhaust fans, whole-house ventilation systems, and other low-flow exhaust applications. Smaller and easier to use than traditional flow hoods, it accurately measures airflow from 10 to 124 CFM by capturing airflow directly at the exhaust grille. During testing, the metering box is placed over the operating fan, and airflow is determined from the pressure reading displayed on a compatible digital or analog pressure gauge. An integrated flow table allows pressure readings to be quickly converted into airflow measurements, making fan performance verification fast and straightforward.
The metering box features an adjustable opening with three measurement ranges to improve accuracy across a wide range of exhaust fan capacities. A flexible gasket helps create a seal around the grille for reliable measurements, while the threaded handle accepts a standard extension pole to simplify testing of ceiling-mounted or hard-to-reach fans. When used with a pressure gauge capable of 0.1 Pascal resolution, the Exhaust Fan Flow Meter delivers airflow measurements with a typical accuracy of ±10% of reading. Measuring just 16 in x 13 in x 8 in and weighing only 3 lbs, it is an ideal portable solution for HVAC contractors, energy auditors, home performance professionals, and ventilation specialists.
