Tanks & Vessels & Silos
Thermal Imagers and Infrared Cameras for Inspecting Tans Vessels and Silos. Thermal imagers can easily be used to determine the levels of fluids in silos if a temperature difference exists. Many chemicals drop in temperature as vapor is drawn from the top like propane, acetone, refrigerants and others. Fluids and solids in silos also have a significant amount of thermal mass when compared to the tank vessel or silo they are stored in and will be much slower to respond to temperature changes then the tank itself. These characteristics make thermal imaging an ideal way of determining levels without physical inspection. With volatile fluids, inspection from a distance is safer and faster.
