This Kit includes the TEC Minneapolis Blower Door and the TEC Minneapolis Duct Blaster System with both the DG-1000 and DG-8 Digital Gauges.
Minneapolis Blower Door System
The blower door fan consists of a molded fan housing with a 3/4 horsepower permanent split capacitor AC motor. Air flow through the fan is determined by measuring the pressure at the flow sensor which is attached to the end of the motor. When the fan is operating, air is pulled into the inlet side of the fan and exits through the exhaust side (a metal fan guard is bolted to the exhaust side of the fan). The blower door fan can accurately measure airflow over a wide range of flow rates using a series of calibrated flow rings which are attached to the inlet of the fan.

Minneapolis Duct Blaster System
Need to test your ducts for leakage? Use the original Minneapolis Duct Blaster for quick easy and accurate results. Performance testing of HVAC duct systems is now required across a large part of the country as duct leakage accounts for significant energy losses, comfort and IAQ problems. Identify and quantify these problems quickly and easily by connecting the Minneapolis Duct Blaster to a central return or the air handler cabinet, tape off or cover the remaining register or grills and use the Duct Blaster to measure leakage or air tightness by either pressurizing or depressurizing the entire duct system. Airflow through the fan is measured by pressure drop with a high accuracy DG1000 manometer.
Duct air-tightness measurements are used to diagnose and demonstrate leakage problems, estimate efficiency losses from duct leakage, and certify compliance with duct leakage standards such as California's Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

TEC Gauge is TEC's mobile app that provides wireless control and display of your DG-1000, DG-700 or DG-8 pressure gauge. The app's Capture feature lets you store and share readings from your gauge using email or cloud sharing apps installed on your mobile device (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox).
