Description
Uniweld TYPE17 Brazing and Welding Tip #1, Brazes 3/4″ Copper, Welds 3/32″ Steel, Multi Gas
Designed for welding, brazing, heating, and soldering using multiple types of gases
The Uniweld Type17-1 weld/braze tip can be used with acetylene, propane, ZAPP/MAP-Pro (propylene), and natural gas. Capable of welding 3/32 in. of metal, and brazing 3/4 in. of copper. Uniweld’s popular Type17 tips come complete with copper elbow, brass mixer, and brass nut. Has two O-Ring seals so tip nut only needs to be firmly hand tightened. Tip will fit either the 71 or WH550 welding handle.

Specs
| TYPE17-1 Welding/Brazing Tip Specs | |
|---|---|
| Acetylene Consumption | 3–6 SCFH |
| Acetylene Pressure | 5 PSIG |
| Oxygen Pressure | 5 PSIG |
| Brazing Copper Thickness | 3/4″ |
| Weld Metal Thickness | 3/32″ |
| Elbow/Mixer Thread Spec | 1/4″-27 (M,F) |
| Tip Length | ~5.9″ |
*Note: When acetylene weld/braze tips are used with other fuel gases, use one size larger tip and maximum pressures to obtain proper heat. This list indicates the approximate torch oxygen consumption with a neutral flame ratio for various gases:
- 1.1 Oxygen to 1 Acetylene
- 3.5 Oxygen to 1 ZAPP Gas®
- 4 Oxygen to 1 Propane/Natural Gas
Pressures are approximate for hose length up to 25 ft.; increase for longer lengths about 3 PSIG per 25 ft.;increase working pressure 2–3 PSIG for check valves and flashback arrestors. Acetylene delivery pressure should not exceed 15 PSIG under flow conditions.
